This year is on course to become the hottest summer on record here in the U.K., so it’s only fitting that I write my final article for The Royalist on a very hot day indeed by British standards, and make it about the climate.
After three great months helping Tom, I’m doing a sort of Megxit of my own and heading to America. But before I go, I want to say a huge thank you to the readers who have made writing about the royal family more fun than I could have imagined. You’ve certainly made the job of starting my morning by checking what’s going on with Britain’s most famous family an entertaining one.
Today, though, I’ll spare you any more talk of my own future and turn to something you might actually want to hear about: the future of the planet. As I’m sure you already know (one thing I’ve learned about Royalist readers is that you’re far bigger experts than I will ever be when it comes to all things royal), Prince William has been advocating for environmental causes for years, determined to offer some hope for the future through the Earthshot Prize, which he launched in 2020.
It seems Princess Catherine, being the great soul she is, is just as keen to make sure the planet is taken care of for generations to come. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the couple’s first overseas trip in years will reportedly be to the 2026 Earthshot Prize ceremony. But where and when are they actually going, and what makes this trip so significant?
