There’s just one small problem with that plan; the Wales family.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

The other problem is this is the same journalist and sources who all thought Harry would magically be provided a full security package earlier this month. Oops, that didn't pan out. This won't either.

Katie's avatar

Was thinking the same thing

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

You are right about the Wales family, they are the ultimate roadblock. They are beloved and they are next in line. Harry and his wishes can't change that.

susan kearney's avatar

I assume that if the king does the unthinkable and brings them back, King William will do to them what his father was finally forced to do to his brother (i.e., Andrew Mountbatten Windsor),

Awzng's avatar

Beyond hoping for and trying to manifest a heli going down, the Sussexes have bullying and smear campaigns on deck to try to get the Waleses to crack under pressure. What do you think the malicious asides in pieces by Tina Brown speculating about (evil, stiff) William being angry and jealous are for?

Relentlessly painting William as inadequate, angry, jealous, lazy, cold, stiff etc. is part and parcel of a whisper and smear campaign to bring William to heel.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

These attacks were unleashed at the same time Harry announced his family were triumphantly returning in July. You cannot be a part-time representative of the crown if you are trying to destroy the heir to it. It is an oxymoron. Harry thinks he is expressing his opinion. He is wrong, he is not allowed to have an opinion on the heir to the throne without renouncing his titles.

Awzng's avatar

This negative campaign against William from camp Sussex has been going on for years, it's not new. Harry doesn't care, he thinks he should be the heir!

susan kearney's avatar

If the Harkles became the reigning monarchs, it would be the end of the monarchy in Britain.

Joan Berg's avatar

Again, evidence of his short term reasoning, punctuated with brain farts. Yes, this campaign against the Wales is nothing new. It gets them no advantage that I can discern, yet continues.

susan kearney's avatar

Britain will never accept the Harkles as royals. The whole family is toxic. If the king wishes to have a relationship with them, that's his prerogative. But, if he tries to shove this family of malignant narcissists down the throats of his subjects, the monarchy will be abolished sooner than you can say "Meghan lies."

Danielle Lizares's avatar

Didn’t she also say that friends of Prince Harry are saying the brothers are communicating.

Oh please!

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

William's side promptly said they are not, I think in Hello. As long as Harry remains with Meghan William won't communicate with Harry.

Awzng's avatar

Forget Meghan. Even without her, that relationship is buried. Vogue William is Pippa's sister-in-law. She's made it very clear in several of her various podcast episodes and blogs that Meghan is a nonfactor and Harry is the one seen as the egregious betrayer.

Danielle Lizares's avatar

Yes I would think he puts the blame solely on H.

jd's avatar

I agree. I don't think William even considers Megan. His beef is the treachery of his brother.

Awzng's avatar

Also, that briefing to Hello magazine was also from camp Sussex. Playing games, as ever. It was not William or KP. Tom says himself in this column that the Sussexes have their camp brief contradictory information to him.

But as you said in a different post, Boshoff did make it clear that her sources are from the Sussex side and nowhere else.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

That is what I heard her say, she did not have royal sources, just Sussex ones. Which speaks volumes.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

Someone in William's camp refuted the claim the brothers were communicating. It would be very unlike William to start communicating with Harry in the middle of this pr fracas.

Awzng's avatar

No one in William's camp responded to anything. That was the Sussexes playing their usual games, including their briefing to People magazine earlier this week emphasizing that there was "no movement and no contact."

harri's avatar

Lol. That was the funniest.

Danielle Lizares's avatar

Alison Boshoff, with all due respect, keep your day job! Comic relief isn’t your forte!

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

She did not sound like she had palace sources, only Sussex ones.

Danielle Lizares's avatar

And KP sources.

Let’s see how much more propaganda she can push. Before Prince Harry’s terrible week, she made claims that were supposedly from impeccable sources but went kerplunk!

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

She said she had no royal sources, only Sussex sources. The Sussex's say a lot of things they wish were true. They are broke, or close to broke, and scrambling for a life preserver.

Annabel Spencer's avatar

I had been fond of Alison Boshoff but after this I think she should stick to show business and not RF. Relying on Sussex sources have not proved to be reliable in the past.

Rem's avatar

In her article in The Daily Mail she also said that Harry's children frequently Zoom with their grandfather the King. I sincerely hope this is not true either but how do we know? Often it is impossible to sort out truth from fiction where reporting on Harry and Meghan is concerned.

Ruth's avatar

Why would King Charles zoom with children and risk being recorded. The last thing Charles would do is provide Meghan with content for her book in the making

jd's avatar

Or for Harry to leak what was said. Like he did after he met with his father right after the cancer diagnosis.

Danielle Lizares's avatar

Didn’t Prince Harry leak the photos with Liam Maguire, Meredith Maines etc and say it was BP who leaked.

It’s what you call STAGING. It’s as if H thinks the public is so gullible!

Danielle Lizares's avatar

How does one get to know your grandfather/grandchildren on Zoom?

MaryE's avatar

Will William be able to quash his fathers apparent plan to reverse Mexit once he is kids

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

I saw Tom's interview with Boshoff. Not once did she say the royal family wanted Harry back. She said her sources were from the Sussex side. Harry always thinks whatever he wants to do is accepted by others. That is how he bounced himself out of the royal family in the first place. He wrote this fictional manifesto describing a new progressive roll that no one else recognized. It was all in his head.

I have to disagree with Tom. Harry will encounter strong headwinds trying to sail back into the family. Because he blew up his role. He lost his housing. And most importantly, he lost his funding. Charles may be King, but he cannot magic away those problems. And even if those problems were not insurmountable, Harry blows every single thing he does up. If the door opens a crack he will be the same complaining brat he has always been. No need to bring up Williams opposition because this imaginary return will never happen.

Joan Berg's avatar

I agree. So much of this seems to be in Harry's unrealistic head... nowhere in this scenario do I see Meghan's wishes either. I believe she's wanted the LA fantasy of being a celeb, but that has pretty much crashed and burned so maybe she's going along with Harry's life version for a change. But his version of his future is incompatible with the rest of the royal family. Boshoff is quoting Sussex sources entirely it seems. How realistic are they? A result of Harry's fevered brain fart?

Heidi's avatar

This. I 100% believe this is Harry’s dream. If she appears to be going along with it I’m sure it’s because she figures it’s the only way to make some money. That does not mean she wants to move back-she didn’t like it the first time around and that’s before their approval ratings cratered.

Awzng's avatar

Meghan absolutely wants this. I'd even say she's driving it, but hiding behind Harry. All this is just more endless lobbying and manifesting for HIHO. It's what both of the Sussexes were pushing for in January 2020. They went on a media smear campaign and extortion tour for years to try to get their desired HIHO arrangement.

They still haven't let go, they're still not moving on. That absolutely includes Meghan.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

What she wants is a mansion with the mortgage paid and to be A list.

Awzng's avatar

And to have HIHO, especially so she can compete with the Waleses.

jd's avatar
2dEdited

I don't think either Harry nor Megan really want to be HIHO. I think they want to be royal without any royal responsibilities.

Nadje Howe's avatar

Maybe Meghan would find housing and financial relief should they (unlikely but if) be welcomed back into the fold. But experiencing the full time, full force loathing by the British public would be so intense and soul destroying for her that even a skanky one bedroom in Palms (that's NOT Palm Springs, people) might sound pretty good. In the UK, she'd face a tsunami of scorn that would be difficult even for someone who was not an unbridled narcissist.

jd's avatar

I think Harry will find the same scorn coming at him. People know him for what he really is now, not for what the palace used to paint him as.

Nadje Howe's avatar

Totally true on the part of the public but I don't think this would emotionally devastate Harry the way it would her. He still has friends and (though dwindling) those who love him; she has none. He's thick, sure, but there's genuine warmth in there. MM not so much, it's all clinging, clawing and performative. She strikes me as profoundly lonely.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

Fevered brain fart is exactly what all of this is, the description is perfect. People toss around the insult delusional and delulu when they don't agree with another person's point of view. But in Harry's case, he is genuinely delusional because his take on this situation has no basis in fact. One step is not all it takes to cover a thousand miles. One step is just one step. The step metaphor is part of Harry's pr that he is on his way back in.

Annabelle77's avatar

Jennifer, excellent post. 👏👏👏🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯👍👍👍👍👍

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

Thank you, I was on the stationary bike yesterday and watching Tom's video and daughter kept interrupting, so I kept re-watching. And it clicked that this was all in Harry's head.

Annabelle77's avatar

I get my best posts like that . 😂

Ruth's avatar

I agree. It has been 7yrs. Harry and Meghan are too indisciplined and too used to doing and saying whatever they want to work for the instituion of monarchy again. They are loose cannons who cannot be trusted to stay on message. Releasing a Risk Assessment to ITV and calling a court ruling a "whitewash" demonstates the immaturity of Harry and his inability to accept the word NO. Frankly after Andrew there is no appetite to give Harry any role. The constant drama from him does not bear thinking about.

CE's avatar

One doesn’t write a nasty tell-all book about one’s entire family, then get welcomed back with open arms. The Royal family knows enough to keep the Sussexes at arms length, wherever they end up living. Charles speaking with Harry and spending an hour or two with the family dies not mean that all is forgiven.

kate's avatar

I want you to be right. Maybe all the articles about Project Thaw, Theo Rycraft wanting to bring Harry and William together, Charles fondest wish for his sons to reunite, etc., are just background noise

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

That is entirely possible.

FlyOverZone's avatar

This might be what they think they want, but essentially they are not Camilla, who may have been hated due to Diana, but who never said anything, never sold information for great globs of money and who fundamentally waited a long time. H&M made cold hard cash out of selling out their family and flounced off. The UK has changed since they left and so have they. I can't see this working and that's before we even get to William.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

This will crash and burn before it ever gets to William. They were not cut out for the job in 2019. They still aren't.

Nan's avatar

I agree completely!

jd's avatar

And Camilla still isn't liked by the people. So I don't think H&M have any chance. They're ranked lower than her. And she's fourth from the bottom.

VC's avatar

We’re beginning to cool on them…newsflash walmartwallis, we’ve been cold on you since the beginning. A d-list ‘actress’ who wants to play royalty. Your endeavors failed miserably here because you brought crap interviews, crap products, crap lifestyle advice, basically everything you touch is crap. Bundle in sad, lost little narcissist who thinks he’s entitled to everything because of his birth, and it’s a marriage you both deserve. What will you do when King William bans you, strips you of your remaining titles? No one wants you here, no one wants you there.

jd's avatar

I agree with everything you say. I'm not sure William will strip them from their titles. It could make him look petty and vindictive. And that wouldn't be a good look for the PR of the monarchy. He probably just will totally ignore them and not invite them to things. Being ignored would be the worst thing for both of them.

Margery's avatar

Harsh, but I don’t disagree!

Renee Johansson's avatar

I actually find this laughable. We can talk all day about what the Sussexes ‘want’ but can we just return to reality for a moment… Charles trying to ‘ease’ the Sussexes back into the public favor will work about as well as the attempt to rehabilitate Andrew: in other words, it won’t work at all. No one is interested in them at all.

jd's avatar

Not to mention his failing to rehabilitate the York daughters and his feeble attempt to rehabilitate Ferguson. He's not good with his track record.

NJP's avatar

Tom - you mentioned last night that the Harkles haven’t been out much in America since Trump was back but that’s not it because the elite Democrats run Hollywood - so the cooling off has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with them being exposed over and over again for being untalented grifters. Add on to the grifting their acting insufferably privileged in all situations - that is answer as to why things have cooled in America.

Tom Sykes's avatar

Interesting take thanks

KatyB's avatar

This person clearly isn’t west coast. If they were, they’d know exactly where Megs has and hasn’t been this summer and exactly how loyal their friends are. Tom spends too much time listening to the Royal rats and uk media, I could listen to Roya & Kate for the same takes. What’s the point of him?

Joan Berg's avatar

I strongly feel Megs in particular overplayed her royal connection. Americans realize she's only royal by marriage, and in Hollywood, with so many impermanent marriages and relationships, that did not go over well at all. Harry is a genuine Prince of course, but when he repeatedly trashed his family, even that connection lost its luster. Once again, Harry failed to play the long game or think things through strategically.

Lisa Wetzelberger's avatar

You’re so right about how Harry (and Meghan) failed to play the long game. What did they think would happen once their Netflix contract ran out? Did they really think they’d do such a good job that the money would keep rolling in forever? What idiots.

jd's avatar

They probably didn't think the Netflix contract would run out. They thought they were going to be stars over and over and over with the people throwing flowers and bowing.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

I think the Pat Tillman award was the moment that permanently took them down. He came off smelling like a turd from that. Just as you say, nothing political about that moment.

Ann's avatar

I think even before that was the Kerry Kennedy debacle with H&M posturing in NYC while Prince William had brought Caroline Kennedy on with Earthshot and came to Boston and D.C. around the same timing. Disgusting.

Susan Liston's avatar

And does everyone remember that they were accepting an "award" for fighting racism in the royal family? I would think that alone would blacklist them forever.

Ann's avatar

Yes, and by then most could see through their insincerity and grasping at anything for attention.

jd's avatar

And you think that would be a weird way to fight racism, by running away from it. Not that there was any racism to run from, but still...

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

Agree, there were a lot of moments that made him look like a turd.

Lisa Wetzelberger's avatar

From what I understand Kerry & Caroline Kennedy have a fractured relationship & that’s why Kerry gave H&M an award. She just wanted to one up her cousin

Ann's avatar

Yes, after Caroline was brilliant with William and Earthshot and like her mother is the absolute epitome of grace.

L G's avatar

I think neither of them are that interesting !!!! Harry isn’t that funny the cheeky chappy act is tired and he has complained too much and too loudly for us to remember he’s just a simple slightly thick English Tim nice but dim, and Meghan is just so dull. Not even being a b, she just is so blah with her chalkboard puns, massive trousers and her insistence on how great she is. She’s basic. She’s lost weight in her face and isn’t as pretty as she was, so I don’t think any women are sitting around dying to get their hands on her latest look . Her insistence that she can elevate the ordinary is for us to decide not for her to tell us I find her grating

Nan's avatar

Absolutely right!

jd's avatar

Exactly. Politics has nothing to do with it. People just don't care for untalented people unless they have charisma. Which neither Harry nor Megan have.

Elizabeth R's avatar

Corporations run Hollywood like they run everything else, sadly.

jd's avatar

Hollywood has always been a corporation. It's a for profit industry, after all.

Elizabeth R's avatar

Right and vanishingly few liberals run corporations, so Hollywood is not in fact run by a “liberal elite”.

Muriel Puce's avatar

It's rather difficult to launch a "charm offensive" when one is completely lacking in charm. There is nothing either of them can to that will erase the filth they have spewed in an effort to damage the BRF. As the saying goes, a leopard can't change its spots, and the Poisonous Pair will forever remain self-important, petty, vindictive, lying grifters. Good luck to Chuck trying to rehab those two.

Lisa Wetzelberger's avatar

Also I highly doubt people in Britain will forgive H&M for how they treated the Queen in the last years of her life. She should have had peace in her twilight years. Instead H&M destroyed it. They were so obsessed with themselves, their wants & needs that they ignored how what they did hurt everyone else in the family.

harri's avatar

I am catching up Mr. Sykes. I pre-ordered your book here for 2/23/2027. And I think your friend Bosh swallowed the white pill harry gave her.

Renee Johansson's avatar

Too funny but so true. This story is actually laughable. Can you even imagine the Sussexes coming back into even a ‘part time’ Royal role. I don’t even think the Wales’s are bothered by this side show. They have real work to do.

Shield of Muffins's avatar

Not buying their propaganda. Even if Charles does have such mad ideas the rest of the family including Camilla won't allow it. The King's friends are leaking too, and they tell a different story.

Renee Johansson's avatar

I Completely agree. Not sure who is buying this nonsense.

Awzng's avatar

Camilla would go along with it to spite the Waleses. Make no mistake. She's a jealous cow.

jd's avatar

She's definitely jealous of them as she truly loves to play Queen. She doesn't like people even to think about a queen coming after her. Too bad for her that very few people actually think of her as a queen.

Shield of Muffins's avatar

I think their interests align here.

kate's avatar

What are the King's friends saying?

Shield of Muffins's avatar

Lady C and Neil Sean reflect that pro royal narrative. It's not the King or even the PAlace comms. She says it is like the Charles diana days when people got fed up with her tame press lapdogs abusing Charles and decided to speak up on their own. I do suspect the Palace comms people like Tobyn and that woman are leaking nasty things about William and Catherine owing to Charles extreme jealousy.

Granny Jude's avatar

If they’ve suddenly woken up to ‘America cooling on them’ they are going to get a rude shock when they discover that the UK is frozen solid against them. When they left the UK were disenchanted but after Oprah, Netflix, the ‘effin grifters’ title, the racist claims against royals and the whole country, the constant whining about how awful life had been in the RF and the monetizing of the titles they despise for money I don’t think a blow torch is going to cut through the freeze. The Harkles together with naive Charles may want something but it’s up to the grossly maligned British people to deliver it and it ain’t gonna happen.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

Exactly Granny Jude.

"Meghan, the source said, feels she “has to push and push” to get projects moving."

Imagine that! work, starting/running a business is hard.

Ecalpemos's avatar

She had it all handed to her on a plate, along with industry experts to help, and still she managed to f*** it up! 😆 Along with her gormless husband. No one has ever had it so easy.

Joan Berg's avatar

She so obviously didn't like the royal role, with its constraints and rules. Would she like it, or adjust to it any better now? Hardly. Would Harry be able to re-adjust to it after years of doing as he pleased? Obligations can be difficult unless one totally buys into their purpose.

Susan Daniel's avatar

There is a piece of this "plan" which I do not understand. When William comes to the throne (in the fullness of time), Harry would be depending on him for financial support if he has not figured out a way to support himself. Fat chance of William being generous or even supporting him at all.

Joan Berg's avatar

I think Harry only plays the short game, never the long one. So much of what he says and does is indicative of his not looking strategically into the future.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

It does make you wonder about his cognitive abilities. Or his drug habit. Or both.

Susan Daniel's avatar

I agree. The challenge for William will be how to handle Harry going forward--especially when he becomes king. I predict that Charles will live for 10 more years--at least. William will be in his early mid 50s when he becomes the king and Harry will be around 50 or very early 50s. A lot could happen between now and then.

FlyOverZone's avatar

If Harry relies on William for financial support, i suspect William will use the template belatedly implemented by his father for Andrew. Shoved off to Sandringham most likely.

Claire Francis's avatar

In addition William would have his step mother to manage.

Susan Daniel's avatar

I don't think that Camilla is going to be difficult to manage. I predict that she will want to return to private life as much as possible and live at her beloved Ray Mill. I have read that Charles purchased the adjacent property so that Camilla's privacy can be maintained.

FlyOverZone's avatar

Yep. I think she wants to spend time with her children and grandchildren, support her very personal charities and be quietly helpful to William if that's what he chooses.

Joan Berg's avatar

I don't see any sign that she's going to be a problem. Charles will leave her well off and given her age, she's probably going to live a relatively quiet life, supporting a few favorite causes, making occasional appearances, spending time with her family.

Claire Francis's avatar

Apparently he is sorting out details to give her autonomy in her role so that and saddling William with Harry and Meghan is going to be a nightmare . She is really starting to flex her muscles with refusing a tiara for Harriet Sperling because she wasn’t a blood royal. Peter Phillips was the late Queens oldest grandchild and William thought she should be able to borrow one of the many tiaras. It became very ugly and Harriet then hired one from a jewellers.

Susan Daniel's avatar

Peter Phillips's previous wife (Autumn) did not wear one of the Queen's tiaras as I recall. She wore a tiara belonging to Anne. I assume Harriet could have done the same. I doubt that we know the real story about the tiara.

Awzng's avatar

The plan is still HIHO and getting money dropped in their laps simply for being royal. The commercial deals would still be a part of everything. Media campaigns to bully William into giving them what they want would also be part of it all.

Susan Daniel's avatar

You are probably right. This is where removing Harry's title (and by extension Meghan's title if they are still married.).

Nan's avatar

Charles has personal wealth that he could leave to Harry in his will, as Diana did.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

This is probably the only thing that will save Harry. There was rumor William wants that locked down with a trustee so that they will have an allowance to bargain with.

Joan Berg's avatar

I can't see KC agreeing to that unless circumstances change. He, just like Diana, his mother... can leave bequests as they will. While some of KC's money is tied up in crown assets, a good amount is his 100% to do with as he will, which I'm sure Harry knows, maybe part of the reason he wanted to reconcile with his father.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

Charles doesn't appear to listen to much that Willism asks for. But geez, if Harry were my kid I would for sure put a trustee on top of what I left him. But you are right, Charles doesn't listen to William.

Joan Berg's avatar

KC can and probably should leave any bequest for Harry in some sort of trust, especially if he's still married to Megs. Same for the grand kids.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

I think you understand the piece perfectly.

Susan Daniel's avatar

Of course I do. That is just my way of writing. Harry will require support.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

This is all about money. If the deals were still paying in the states, he wouldn't be back with his hand out.

Susan Daniel's avatar

You are most likely right. However, I do think he misses being a real royal and all that came with it. When you think about it, he had a pretty decent life for an uneducated guy. He had financial support, a place to live, meaningful work to do, and many perks that came along with being the Queen's grandson and now the King's son. Yes, there was protocol and limits on what he could say and do. But, there was SO MUCH that he could do! The royals who have had good lives have had interests outside of their "day job". Anne loves horses and has dedicated her life to that interest. Charles loves gardens and has immersed himself in planning and maintaining them--esp. when times were rough. Harry seems to be at loose ends.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

Anne found a talent, developed it and rode it to the Olympics. That achievement in turn helped her turn Gatcombe Park into a paying enterprise that her children help her run. Because Gatcombe is based on legitimate talent and her own hard work, the public don't resent it. Princess Anne is my favorite royal.

Claire Francis's avatar

Unless Charles creates a provision for him

Susan Daniel's avatar

Yes, Charles could leave him money--but how much is enough? It appears that Harry has an inflated idea of the lifestyle he is entitled to.

Sheila Moore's avatar

If Harry never intended to be estranged from his family then why did he go on Oprah, write his book, and participate in his Netflix series?

Charlotte's avatar

I’m still worried about the line of succession. Up to the King if he wants to bankroll Harry, but Harry is clearly not fit to be a potential monarch.

LesleyC19's avatar

Or a Regent if anything, heaven forbid, if anything happened to Charles and William before George is of age.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

There is strong precedent for naming the spouse of the deceased monarch regent of an underage monarch. We haven't seen Catherine named as possible regent, we won't until William's accession. But I agree with you that his role as councilor of state, along with the titles, should be removed.

kate's avatar

If George came to the throne, the Regent has to be the next person in the Line of Succession who is older than 18 -- which would be Harry. Remove Harry and who would be Regent? You guessed it -- Andrew.

Changing the Line of Succession requires agreement by the Parliaments of all 15 realms over which the king is sovereign Sad to say -- never gonna happen.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

After the Queens accession Prince Philip was named as regent in the event of the Queens death. Usually a regent is designated for an underage heir promptly after their parents accession. If no regent is named before a death, the default is then the next adult in the line of succession. But even then the selection is not set in stone. When Queen Victoria was a child, her mother, the Duchess of Kent, was widely anticipated to likely be appointed regent in the event William IV died before her eighteenth birthday. That is why Sir John Conroy was so attentive to her mother, he hoped to reign in her mothers name. Which is why there is no automatic, set-in-stone regent, unless one is designated by the soveriegn before their death.

kate's avatar

I relied in ChatGPT for this information. It says the current rules are set out primarily in the Regency Acts of 1937, 1943, and 1953. The 1953 version would supersede earlier versions and could account for the situation for Victoria being different from now. Or ChatGPT could be wrong (not for the first time!). Either way, it would be ludicrous to think either Harry or Andrew should be Regent.

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

The 1953 version designated Prince Philip regent for his minor child. If William's children are underage when he accedes, we will promptly see a new Regency Act designating Catherine regent for their minor child in the event a regent were required. There is zero chance this would not be immediately done by William. Plenty of precedent for it. The Duchess of Kent was actually designated regent in the 1830 act. Victoria's uncles were somewhat seedy characters who coveted the throne. Not unlike the situation now, a seedy uncle who covets the throne.

Claire Francis's avatar

Phillip was made Regent when Charles and Anne were teenagers instead of Margaret so if there is a change for Catharine who is more educated I think that would raise questions

Jennifer l hawkins's avatar

The monarchy would be done if it landed on Harry, no chance of survival.

Nancy Cornillie's avatar

If this plan to return to England and the Royal Family is true, it’s almost sabotage to the Monarchy. Doesn’t Charles realize it’s not a coincidence that everyone and everything the Sussexes affiliate with is damaged by their behavior? They’re like Typhoid Mary - no disrespect to her.

The poor Waleses.
