Prince Harry got off to an unsteady start this morning, as he bristled and was highly defensive as he gave evidence in his trial against Associated Newspapers Limited, (ANL), the publishers of the Mail and the Mail on Sunday.

The judge intervened twice to try and calm Harry down and urge him not to argue with ANL’s lawyer, Anthony White.

White was grilling Harry over his witness statement, which was released to the public via the court as he was sworn in.

White kicked off by asking Harry why he hadn’t complained about many of the stories he was now complaining about at the time they appeared. He said: “I wasn’t able to complain because of institution I was in. It would have been very difficult. Never complain and never explain.”
